Fun-Filled Weekends

We spent General Conference weekend in Willcox and Bowie (pronounced Boo-ee) with family.  Landon was introduced to lots of cousins, aunts, and uncles on the Allred side.

Hanging out with dad, watching conference/snoozing

All of the Allred brothers enjoying some laughs together (with cute little nephews Spencer and Case)

Landon cheered his Uncle Clark on at his Toro Football game (even though he was out due to an injury, bummer!)

He spent most of the game like this.

And got some snuggles from dad...

But we snagged a picture with Clark so you could see Landon sporting his "Toro Football" onesie gifted to him from his Grandma and Grandpa Brown!

And since we had a "cool down" here in good ol' AZ, we went on a picnic.

Love my boys!

General Conference Weekend Away

We spent this past General Conference weekend in Willcox with most of the Allred family.

We spent a lot of time out in Bowie (pronounced Boo-ee), a town 20 minutes outside of Willcox where two of Brett's siblings live.

Friday night when we drove in, we headed straight to Bowie and watched "Cowboys versus Aliens" with Michael and Kami.

Saturday we spent the day with the Jared and Melanie Allred family, who live on the family farm in Bowie.  Melanie treated everyone to "Conference Crepes" for breakfast.  It was fun hanging out with the family and kiddos!

In between sessions, we hiked Ft. Bowie.  Jared has gotten into trail running lately, and runs this trail about once a week. He ran the whole thing, while we walked most of the trail.

It is a 3 mile round-trip trail, that is not super difficult with lots of fun information and exhibits on the way.
At the top, they have a ranger station, which is almost like a mini museum.  This is a historically-dense area, and we found out lots of tid-bits of information!

While the men were at Priesthood Session, the kids and moms all got together for mini pizzas and banana splits.

Sunday we spent with the Justin and Jocelyn family during the sessions.  We had hootenany (German pancakes) for lunch with fresh chicken eggs and had fun hanging out with the kids. We got nearly a whole ream of paper colored for us during conference from our adorable nephew Spencer.  It was a combination of animal and conference coloring pages, each page addressed to us individually.  He had to start doing double sided pages!

Sunday night was topped off with family dinner with the whole Allred clan in Bowie at the Michael and Kami Allred family home.  Yummy food and good company just can't be beat!

We also brought our sweet pup home that night, she was a little scared and slept on my lap the whole car ride home.

It was a good weekend, I love General Conference Weekend!

Weekend in Willcox

Brett and I went to Willcox a few weekends ago.  I love weekends away there.  They are slower paced, full of family togetherness, and wonderful weather.

Here are just a few highlights from the trip:

fire burning in the fireplace and hot chocolate on chilly evenings

solving the worlds problems during family discussions

watching Brett round up 2 horses for us to ride, but a whole swarm of 10 followed him...he's the horse whisperer (or it possibly could have happened because of the bucket of grain he was carrying :)

a romantic horseback ride up into the mountains with a picnic lunch
(and Brett ripping a nice hole in his trousers)

taking the nieces and nephews on horseback rides and playing with them

homemade apple crisp from the apples in the backyard

being one of several fabulous "Sister Allred"s at church

a Fall feast of chili and cornbread

visiting brother and sister-in-law at their new beautiful home that is only surrounded by mountains and fields (she is just like Pioneer Woman!)

having chewy praline fudge for breakfast

picking out fresh produce at Apple Annie's

long talks and random dance parties in the car while driving

just being with the family
(I sure am going to miss my mother and father-in-law)

I've discovered that a huge part of me is a small-town girl
and I am lucky to have married the best cowboy around!

What We've Been Up To

Mid-week lunch date with Brett near his work building.  We went to Grimaldi's Pizzeria.  So yummy!  We would really reccommend this restaurant.
We order a pepperoni pizza (the pepperoni has a great kick) and a Mediterranean salad.

We celebrated my Great-Grandpa Breinholt's 92nd Birthday!
Apparently he was distracted, and didn't look at the camera

Brett whipping up some of his "Killer Omelets" (named by himself, but they really are!)

Seeing Harry Potter opening weekend down in Sierra Vista.  We went with Brett's two brothers and their wives (Matthew and Maren hadn't arrived yet).

The giddy Allred Boys: Michael and Brett

Kami, Michael, Brett, Me

Pizookies in Pajamas!  We recently purchased a new air mattress and put it to good use by blowing it up in our living room and watching "Back to the Future" while eating pizookies.  I love fun, free dates like this!

Please excuse the no make-up and granny nightgown (but I love my nightgowns!)

Down to Just Hours

I can not even believe I am about to be a married woman!  We are down to just hours now, and it is so exciting!  It is starting to feel more real now that I have gone through the temple, family is coming into town, and I am starting to pack for my honeymoon.  But it is still such a surreal feeling!

Brett and I went down to Willcox over general conference weekend and his sisters and sisters-in-law who were in town, and mom planned a bridal shower for me while the men were at the priesthood session.  It was a blast!

Susan, my soon to be mother-in-law, gave a little introduction

My two future sisters-in-law Melanie and Maren, with baby Cooper

Another future sister-in-law, Kami

I got so many wonderful and thoughtful gifts!  I am so blessed!

They of course had to grill me about Brett.  I buckled under pressure and couldn't come up with his favorite food.  Anyone that knows Brett knows it is steak!

My other future sister-in-law, Rebecca and Melanie just putting the final touches on the food table.  Everyone made such yummy treats!

Last week Brett and I got all decked out in our wedding attire and took some photos...
Here are a few sneak peeks of our pre-wedding bride and groom photos:

We are so excited!  After we get back from our honeymoon, I am sure we will have tons of wedding and post-wedding photos to share!
